Massage Therapy Foundation Grants and Contests for 2016

The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) offers massage therapy students and practitioners the opportunity to advance their work through contest and grant programs.

The following grants and programs will be offered in 2016:

  • Research Grants—Awards are up to $30,000. Deadline: March 1, 2016.
  • Community Service Grants—Awards are up to $5,000. Deadline: April 1, 2016.
  • Practitioner and Student Case Report Contests—Deadline: Student Case Reports—June 1, 2016; Practitioner Case Reports—October 3, 2016.

Louisiana Bill Proposes Massage Program Hour Increase

Effective October 1, 2024, Louisiana massage students will no longer be eligible for federal financial aid because massage programs are limited by Louisiana law. But there is a solution: Senate Bill 353 will increase the required education hours for massage licensure from 500 to 625. ABMP fully supports this bill, and we explain why you should too.
