Many individuals received continuing education (CE) waivers and variances throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Those who received waivers have until September 23, 2021, to renew. After that date they must reactivate their licenses. Reactivation requires proving 16 hours of CE, proof of education, passing a national examination, and paying a $120 fee.
For those who are simply renewing an active license by December 31, 2021, you must submit your obtained 16 hours of CE—whether completed online or live—by your renewal date. Those renewing after December 31, 2021, will need eight hours of in-person CE.
