April 17 Hearing on Massage Establishment Registry Bill

California Assembly Bill 3061, recently introduced in the state legislature, would specify that all owners of massage therapy establishments must register as a massage establishment owner with the county clerk in the county in which the massage establishment operates. The bill would specify the information required to be contained in the registration application, and would authorize the county clerk to charge a reasonable fee to cover the costs of registration. The bill would require a county clerk to notify the California Massage Therapy Council if it revokes a massage establishment owner's registration.
