Wildfires Ravage Harbin Hot Springs Resort

Harbin Hot Springs Resort, the oldest of its kind in California, and a beloved destination within the holistic healing community, was nearly completely destroyed by the California wildfires on Saturday, September 12.

The once-luxurious campus of pools, meditation gardens, camping areas, and fountains was virtually leveled by what is being called the Valley Fire. A total of 295 residents, practitioners, and local staff were displaced as a result of the devastation.

While the infrastructure was destroyed, the actual hot springs and pools were spared, leaving a glimmer of hope that the area can eventually be rebuilt.

Harbin Hot Springs posted the following message on www.harbin.org:

“Although local relief agencies may supply some clothes, goods and services for recovery, it is financial support that will be most needed by these individuals over the next few months. If you can spare any amount, large or small, please donate to the Residents & Staff fund now.

One hundred percent of the money collected will be distributed to current Harbin residents and employees—split evenly, regardless of job or title—in approximately four weeks, when Harbin can no longer guarantee further paycheck.”
