First Yomassage Social Spa Opens in Portland, Oregon

Yomassage opened its first social spa in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, October 1.

After four years of training practitioners in the modality, the Yomassage founders opened this first brick-and-mortar social spa to provide physical touch, social connection, and community.

The Yomassage Social Spa offers semiprivate sessions in a relaxation studio or individual sessions in private treatment rooms. The spa also will feature sessions specifically for the preconception, prenatal, and postnatal communities, in addition to anyone looking to manage stress, feel nurtured, and take care of their mind and bodies.

Texas Proposes New Massage Therapy, Barber, Cosmetology Rules

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation proposed rules that affect massage therapy. The rules are necessary to align the dishonored payment processing fee with statutory requirements, add additional rules regarding complaints, and revise the processes and procedures for contested cases. Submit comments in support, or opposition to, the proposed rules before April 3, 2023.
