English No Longer the Exclusive Language Used in Utah Government

The Utah legislature introduced Senate Bill 214 (SB 214) in February 2021 and Governor Cox signed the bill into law March 22, 2021.

SB 214 removes the provision that English be the sole language for the government in the state of Utah. Although English remains the official language, SB 214 removes the provision that all government documents, transactions, proceedings, meetings, or publications must be in English only.
