Texas Massage Therapists, Schools, and Businesses: Submit Your Fingerprints Before September 1, 2021

The attempt is ongoing to have compliance for massage therapists, instructors from schools offering massage therapy programs, and massage therapy establishment owners to submit fingerprints. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) sent a reminder this week that these entities must submit their fingerprints for a national criminal history check by September 1, 2021, and encouraged those licensees, school instructors, and business owners who have not yet submitted their fingerprints to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting now rather than wait until the last minute. Here are TDLR's fingerprinting instructions for licensed massage therapists.

A note from TDLR:
“If you have already submitted your fingerprints for licensing, you do not have to submit them again to renew your license. If you are renewing multiple types of licenses, when you are renewing you can submit the receipt from the first set of fingerprints you obtained.”
