Pennsylvania Further Extends Temporary Waiver for CPR Requirement

Governor Wolf approved the Pennsylvania Department of State’s request to extend the temporary waiver that suspended the requirement for massage therapists licensed under the State Board of Massage Therapy to maintain active CPR certification. The waiver extension allows any CPR certification that was in effect on March 17, 2020, to remain in effect through January 31, 2021. The previous extension was only in effect until December 31, 2020.

This extension will give massage therapists additional time to obtain CPR training. LMTs can take an online CPR class instead of attending an in-person course. Online classes will meet the CPR requirement for the biennial renewal period ending January 31, 2021.
