Proposed Oregon Massage CE Changes

The Oregon Board of Massage Therapists (OBMT) is proposing changes to the continuing education (CE) rules for massage therapists. The proposed changes include reducing the required number of CE hours from 25 to 12 hours bi-annually, among other changes. The CE proposals will be addressed at the regular OBMT Board meeting on September 17, 2018. Click here for the draft rules containing the CE proposals (scroll to page 13).  Click here for more information about the CE proposals on the OBMT website.

Additionally, the OBMT will be addressing the issues in this set of proposed rules at a formal rules  rules hearing on September 25, 2018. The proposed CE changes will not be addressed at this hearing. You are welcome to attend the hearing and testify if you'd like. The hearing will be held at 9:00 a.m in the OBMT Board Room, 728 Hawthorne Ave. NE, Salem, OR 97301.

We encourage you to submit your comments to the OBMT on either the proposed CE rules or the proposed rules to be addressed at the September 25 meeting. You may submit your comments to:
