The Michigan Massage Board is proposing changes to the Michigan Massage Therapy Rules, including changes concerning massage education, school accrediation, and continuing education. You can read the proposed rule changes here.
ABMP is part of a coalition in Michigan submitting comments on the proposed rules to the state. Among other things, the comments argue that the types of providers allowed to provide CE should be expanded, and point out that the proposed rule requiring school accreditation conflicts with the state massage statute providing that schools can be either accredited or licensed.
We notified our ABMP Michigan members earlier this month that their comments on the proposed rules should be submitted by June 6 to the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Professional Licensing– Boards and Committees Section, at email: BPL-BoardSupport@michigan.gov.
