Georgia Board of Massage Therapy Seeks Two Board Members

Are you interested in serving on the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy? One way to become more engaged in your profession is to serve a term on the Board in your state. There are currently two seats open to licensed massage therapists on the Georgia Board of Massage Therapy (Board), and Governor Kemp’s office is looking for qualified applicants. ABMP encourages interested and eligible members to consider applying for an appointment.

The Board consists of five members appointed by the governor upon confirmation from the Senate. To qualify for an appointment, candidates must be residents of Georgia, hold an active Georgia massage license, and have at least five years of massage therapy experience. Board members serve four-year terms. To apply, visit the official website of the Georgia Office of the Governor and follow the application prompts or email your resume in PDF format to the Board at PLB-Healthcare2@sos.ga.gov.

The purpose of the Board is to regulate the practice of massage therapy and massage therapy programs in the state of Georgia. The Board determines license qualifications, reviews applications, conducts investigations, holds hearings, develops standards for continuing education, evaluates massage therapy programs, and adopts and revises massage therapy rules for the safety of the public. Help shape the future of Georgia massage therapy and apply for a Board appointment.
