Due to Hurricane Idalia’s devastating impact, license renewal deadlines have been pushed back for some professionals, including massage therapists. On August 28, 2023, the Florida Department of Health issued Emergency Order No. 23-002, authorizing a renewal extension for massage therapists and massage establishments in response to Hurricane Idalia.
License expiration dates have been pushed back from August 31, 2023, to October 2, 2023. The decision to extend renewal dates is a measure to prevent or delay necessary action while coping with the state emergency.
Unless another extension is approved, any active license not renewed before October 2, 2023, will go into delinquent status. If your license expired in 2021, your license will be moved to “null and void” status.
