The Colorado Massage Therapy Practice Act was up for sunset review this legislative session. This periodic review allows the legislature to assess massage therapy regulation in the state and examine how well it is serving public interest. The legislature also evaluates the act’s effectiveness and performance for the purpose of improvement or discontinuation.
On April 12, 2022, Governor Polis signed into law House Bill 22-1226, which extended massage therapy licensing requirements until September 1, 2031. No substantial changes were recommended or adopted.
