AFMTE 2016 Educator of the Year Awards Deadline is April 15

The Alliance for Massage Therapy Education’s (AFMTE) Educator of the Year Awards recognizes teachers in the massage and bodywork field who are raising the standards of excellence in education.

These awards honor educators meeting the National Teacher Education Standard Project’s Core Competency standards, which describe the foundational knowledge, skills, and attitudes teachers need to produce successful and consistent outcomes with adult learners in varied educational settings. One Educator of the Year Award will go to a teacher, and a second will honor a continuing education (CE) provider.

Winners will receive:

• One-year membership in the AFMTE

• Free registration to the 2017 AFMTE Educational Congress

• A Crystal Apple Award

• $1,000 stipend to be reimbursed at the conference

• $250 in FREE products from Biofreeze and Bon Vital’

Effective October 1, 2024, Louisiana massage students will no longer be eligible for federal financial aid because massage programs are limited by Louisiana law. But there is a solution: Senate Bill 353 will increase the required education hours for massage licensure from 500 to 625. ABMP fully supports this bill, and we explain why you should too.
