ABMP Opposes CA Bill AB3061, Up For Vote this Week

California AB3061, regarding a massage establishment registry, is up for a vote this week in the California Assembly. ABMP opposes this bill, as it remains vague and requires registry with counties. Many massage therapists and bodyworkers already have to pay for licenses at the municipal level and for CAMTC certification. This is an added level of regulation. We are also opposed because it does not exempt sole practitioners. If you wish to send a letter to your legislator telling them you oppose this bill, find out who your legislator is and how to contact them here: http://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov. If you send a letter, please also send it to ABMP Government Relations Director Laura Embleton at laura@abmp.com. Thank you!
