Soothe Rolls Out CBD Massage in Southern California

On-demand massage service Soothe announced it will launch CBD massage as a menu option for Southern California customers starting November 15, 2019. Areas where CBD massage are offered include Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire, Palm Springs, and San Diego.

“Soothe is excited to be able to bring CBD massage directly to your home,” says Jeff Bishop, VP of Operations at Soothe. “Our luxurious CBD massages combine a unique variety of massage techniques, supplemented with the topical use of high-quality, FDA-compliant CBD products.” The hemp-based, topical cannabidiol (aka CBD) lotions and oils used by Soothe therapists contain less than 0.3% tetrahydrocannabinol (aka THC)—which is within Federal limits—and are therefore non-psychoactive.

Bishop adds, “While CBD massages are currently only offered in Southern California, Soothe has plans to expand to other regions soon.”

John Walters, a massage therapist for Soothe, says, “CBD massage is great for people who experience anxiety, stress, tension, or suffer from muscle soreness or physical pain.” An article published by the Day Spa Association suggests that products infused with CBD help reduce inflammation within muscles and joints, while a more detailed review published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) provides foundational basic and clinical science linking the endocannabinoid system within the human body and phytocannabinoids, such as CBD, with their potentially therapeutic role in the management of chronic pain. According to this review, “The endocannabinoid system is involved in a host of homeostatic and physiologic functions, including modulation of pain and inflammation.”*

The products used by Soothe massage therapists are not intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of any disease, illness, or health condition. For anyone who is pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or has a medical condition, Soothe advises consulting with a physician before booking a CBD massage.
