The Nebraska Administrative Code was updated this June and continuing education (CE) hours were amended: “During the 24 months prior to the license renewal date, each licensed massage therapist must complete 16 hours of continuing education hours.”
Previously, Nebraska massage therapists had to complete 24 hours of CE. The new rule is effective June 7, 2021, and now only requires 16 hours. All massage therapy licenses and temporary licenses expire on November 1 of each odd-numbered year, which means this new rule will affect your November 2021 license renewal.
The rules continue to allow 50 percent of your CE to be obtained online. To help make sure you earn your CE on time, we invite you to visit the ABMP Education Center, where ABMP members have access to 200 plus hours of free continuing education.
