In June, the Illinois legislature adopted revised continuing education requirements for licensed massage therapists. House Bill 2756 increases continuing education hours from 24 to 25 for each license renewal period. The additional hour must be in domestic violence and sexual assault awareness education. The one-hour course must be offered by a CE provider approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (Department).
The Department may adopt rules regarding the new domestic violence and sexual assault awareness CE course. ABMP will keep you informed as we learn more.
