Illinois revised continuing education requirements for massage therapists in Volume 45, Issue 11 of the Illinois Register (see page 48 of the linked document) published March 12, 2021.
ABMP notified members of the proposed rule in October 2020. The rule is now final, effective March 1, 2021, and allows all 24 hours of CE credits to be completed online. Previously, only 12 of the required 24 hours of CE could be earned by a web-based course, an academic workshop, or a seminar. Although the rule change came as a response to COVID-19 and the limitations it presented to earning CE credits during the pandemic, the amendment is permanent.
