ABMP FAQ

Q1: What does ABMP membership include?

ABMP membership provides a comprehensive professional package of occurrence-form liability insurance (non-shared), free access to over 750+ hours of continuing education (CE) courses, no upcharge for Additional Insured Endorsements, a print and digital subscription to Massage & Bodywork magazine, 50+ member discounts, access to Five-Minute Muscles and Pocket Pathology practice apps, and legislative advocacy and marketing tools. ABMP membership is designed to support students and new and experienced massage therapists with resources to grow and protect their practices.

Q2: Is liability insurance included in my ABMP membership?

Yes. Every ABMP membership includes professional, general, and product liability insurance coverage. It protects you whether you work in a spa, wellness center, clinic, or operate independently. ABMP’s policies are occurrence-form, meaning you’re covered for claims made even after your membership expires, as long as the incident occurred during your coverage period. Liability insurance with ABMP is also a non-aggregate policy, meaning your policy is your policy and not shared with a larger group that has a monetary cap. For an additional fee, Business Personal Property coverage can be added; this covers the insured for lost, stolen, or damaged property of the business that is not a permanent part of the building structure.

Q3: How much does ABMP membership cost?

ABMP offers multiple membership levels starting at $199/year for professionals. Certified membership includes the option for payment plans at $20/month and access to the full continuing education course library of 750+ hours. Graduates and students can access discounted rates with similar benefits.

Q4: When does my coverage begin after joining ABMP?

Coverage begins at midnight following the terms agreement. You’ll then receive a digital insurance certificate, making it easy to meet licensing or workplace insurance requirements.

Q5: How many CE hours come with my membership?

Professional members have access to 350+ hours of continuing education. Certified members have access to a full on-demand CE library with 750+ hours of massage-specific training. Topics range from anatomy and pathology, from business development to hands-on techniques, from ethics to self-care.
