The Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) invites massage and bodywork therapy professionals to participate in the 2022 Job Task Analysis (JTA) Survey. This survey, which will be available beginning February 22, 2022, seeks to ensure that the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) reflects current practice.

The Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) has initiated litigation in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas against Footy Rooty Development, Inc. D/B/A Footy Rooty Institute Houston, its officers, and other participating parties. The litigation was initiated by FSMTB, alleging copyright and trade secret infringement related to the intellectual property interests of the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx®).

Senate Bill 180 was introduced will create a tiered licensing structure for massage therapists: Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) and a second tier of Certified Massage Practitioners (CMPs) who practice limited massage therapy. ABMP is opposed to SB 180 as is, because there are no education requirements for becoming a CMP.
