The Massage Ethics Council was founded in 2023 to offer guidance in establishing clear, ethical standards of care for the massage industry. Council members Laura Allen, Ben E. Benjamin, Beverley Giroud, Nathan Nordstrom, and Cherie Sohnen-Moe have more than 150 years of combined experience in teaching, writing, and consulting on ethical issues in the massage field. They are in the process of publishing guidelines on “The Prevention of Sexual Misconduct and Assault in Massage Therapy.”
