North Dakota 5/18/01 4/18/01 2/12/01 - schools 2/12/01 - practitioners 5/18/01: House Bill 1155 was signed by Governor John Hoeven on March 14, 2001. 4/18/01: House Bill 1155 was introduced by Industry, Business and Labor Committee at the request of the Board of Massage to amend the existing massage therapy regulations. Governor John Hoeven signed the bill into law on March 14, 2001 The essence of the bill is language clean-up. Amendments include changes to the definitions of "massage" and "massage therapist." Amendments are made to prohibited acts and persons exempted from the chapter as well as a number of changes related to the powers and duties of the Board of Massage. The language clean-up regarding requisites for application and examination will be effective Aug. 1, 2001. The bill would create and enact a new subsection of the North Dakota Century Code relating to licensure,minimum standards and disciplinary action for massage schools.
