Massage therapists work intimately with our clients, and it is our responsibility to stay up to speed on information about risks presented to ourselves and to our clients by contagious diseases. This course covers a carefully chosen selection of contagious diseases that are especially relevant for massage therapists. Begin with a review of immune system function, and then learn the definitions, demographics, pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, treatment options, and role of massage therapy for herpes simplex, herpes zoster, and bacterial infections of the skin (including MRSA).
