ABMP Student Life Features

Each ABMP Student Life email includes a short feature article that supports student academic success. For example, “Fun Study Methods that Work” outlines six key study methods students can use each week to master massage therapy curriculum. “Methods that Make Learning Muscles Easier” shows massage students how to use a Muscle Graphic Organizer to capture and memorize muscle origins, insertions, and actions. Students can use these articles and download related classroom resources to improve their massage school experiences.

Picked Fresh

The Picked Fresh section of each email connects students to study tools they can download and share with classmates and teachers. For example, massage students can use the Student Habit-Builder Checklist to develop the daily habits of a great student, and the Study Planning Form to help organize study sessions and stay on track with homework assignments.

ABMP Student Life Videos

Don’t miss our ABMP Student Life videos, where the massage therapists on our ABMP team share their favorite massage techniques to reinforce the methods students are learning in school. We’ll show students massage & bodywork techniques like fantastic foot massage moves or face massage strokes that clients love.

Take 5 Slide Decks

The Take 5 slide decks are fun, quick, and meant for sharing. They are designed to help students pick up useful tips for leading a healthy student lifestyle, while decreasing school stress! We focus on overcoming the basic challenges and obstacles all students face. For example, “How to Keep Your Friends and Get Good Grades” reminds students to find balance between socializing and school. And “Healthy Study Snacks” gives students options besides chips and soda at study time.

Pass the MBLEx Exam!

In the Pass the Test section of ABMP Student Life, ABMP provides step-by-step guidance to help students pass the MBLEx exam on their first try. Students learn about their state laws and requirements, receive advice about what to study, learn to use effective study methods, and make a detailed study plan for the MBLEx. ABMP teaches students strategic test-taking methods and provides best practices for overcoming test anxiety. Finally, easy-to-follow directions are given to help students apply for the MBLEx, schedule a testing date, and show up early ready to pass!

Plan Your Massage & Bodywork Career

Many massage schools require students to create a business portfolio as part of their business classes. In the Plan Your Career section of ABMP Student Life, massage students write mission statements, explore employment and private practice opportunities, write a career plan, review cover letters and resume samples, practice with interview questions, and watch marketing videos. They can also build a website with ABMP’s easy-to-use and top-notch website builder program and set up their business email. In short, everything they need to ace your business class!

Massage & Bodywork Magazine

ABMP Student Life includes access to the digital edition of ABMP's award-winning Massage & Bodywork magazine. Sent six times a year, this bimonthly journal offers in-depth articles on the latest massage & bodywork research, historical perspectives, massage techniques, business information, and professional trends, plus a variety of regularly featured columns from noted authors and educators in the field. It's a great way to introduce your students to the massage & bodywork profession.

Activities developed from ABMP Student Life content can enhance classroom learning and also make great extra credit homework assignments for massage students.
