Allen became a licensed massage therapist and bodyworker in 1999 and is the owner of THERA-SSAGE, a clinic and educational facility in Rutherfordton, NC. Allen's regular ethics column, Heart of Bodywork, appears in Massage & Bodywork magazine. She has been an approved provider of continuing education under the NCBTMB since 2000, offering classes in professional ethics, business and marketing, and massage therapy.
