Video Course: Cornerstones 11: Summative Assessment in the Cognitive Domain

Cindy Williams

Effective assessment practices are one of the most powerful tools in an educator’s toolkit. This course, the 11th in Cornerstones: The ABMP Instructor Development Program, shows instructors a variety of tools for accurately assessing students at the end of a lesson or course, including specific instruction on how to write excellent multiple-choice and written-response questions for the most effective assessment of the learner’s acquisition of knowledge. But it doesn’t stop there. It also offers instructors tools for using the results of those assessments as feedback mechanisms so the assessment itself becomes a learning experience that grows the massage and bodywork student’s knowledge and skills.
