Watch the Promotional Webinar on Orthopedic Massage with Whitney Lowe.
120 hours of CE

Whitney Lowe and ABMP have partnered to bring Lowe's innovative
Orthopedic Massage course to ABMP’s members at a discounted fee as part of ABMP’s Online Education Center. Lowe developed the nation's premier orthopedic massage curriculum and is widely known for his expertise in assessment and soft-tissue treatment approaches for pain and injury conditions. Lowe’s system is a comprehensive approach that integrates therapeutic techniques, evaluation and assessment testing, information about common conditions, and rehabilitation protocols. As client demand for therapeutic treatment of pain or injury complaints increases, therapists who prepare to meet client needs with an effective system can expand their client base and practices.

ABMP is excited to provide its members with this unique opportunity to study clinical rehabilitation concepts in ways that are not possible in the traditional classroom environment. Like the courses offered through ABMP’s Online Education Center, Lowe’s online format is interactive and engaging. Completion of all three parts of the course and a final certification test qualifies you for certification as an Orthopedic Massage Specialist.
Orthopedic Massage Part 1 (40 hours of CE): Soft-tissue pain complaints of the torso are one of the most common reasons for people to seek massage. Part 1 covers evaluation and treatment of back, neck, and pelvis pain or injury conditions, including conditions such as thoracic outlet syndrome, spinal nerve compression pathologies, piriformis syndrome, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, low back pain, whiplash, and others.
Orthopedic Massage Part 2 (40 hours of CE): Part 2 explores evaluation and treatment of lower extremity disorders. Few courses address the biomechanical challenges presented by lower extremity issues in the detail of this course. This section covers conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tarsal tunnel syndrome, patellofemoral pain, tendinosis, shin splints, muscle strains, and others.
Orthopedic Massage Part 3 (40 hours of CE): The repetitive nature of many activities has led to an epidemic of upper extremity disorders. Part 3 addresses evaluation and treatment of upper extremity disorders, such as frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, nerve entrapment syndromes, and others.
Lowe has been an innovator at the forefront of online education for massage therapy for nearly 10 years. Interactive case-study scenarios, the foundation of these courses, supplemented by video, audio, and animations make these courses an unparalleled educational experience. Each of the three parts of the course comes with a FREE DVD showing treatment and assessment techniques for that specific region. Lowe works directly with each student through the duration of the course and provides personal feedback. Only basic computer skills are needed.
