What's required for continuing education for certified members?
ABMP Certified members are required to complete 16 hours of continuing education every two years in order to maintain their Certified membership.

When do I have to complete my continuing education by?
Every two years, or every 2nd renewal. If you joined on June 1, 2000, you would have to complete the continuing education in time for your renewal on May 31, 2002. Then you would need to complete your next 16 hours by May 31, 2004, etc.

What can I take?
ABMP has embraced a broad approach to continuing education. Our philosophy is that if it can improve your career, it's good enough for us. So, you might take a seminar on reflexology, or a computer class. It's what matters to you that counts.

Do I need to send in certificates or forms?
No. Simply fill out and sign the acknowledgement on the back of your renewal notice. We'll randomly audit a small percentage of members to ensure that requirement is being satisfied.

What if I don't sign the acknowledgement?
We'll send you a note asking you to do so.

What if I didn't complete the education?
You'll have the option of completing it in the next 90 days or downgrading your membership to Professional level.
