Hi ABMP staff,
I am impressed with that message by Les, thanks Les.
I’m so busy with two jobs, of NMT, that it takes my time pretty continualy, but I need to keep more in touch with all ABMP, has to offer.
I would love to work out my CEU studies, with ABMP web. site. I believe that’s possible?
Something else I want to learn more of, is how this site, can give we the therapist ways to market, or advertise such as “Massage Any Where”.com etc..
Well I must be going so thanks for hearing my comments and concerns, and Good on Ya’
Take Care

Hi Les, Please advise on the latest regarding the state registration here in CA. I heard that some are pushing for a test as part of the req’s. As schools already do testing it seems that is sufficient. I suggest, in these formative stages, we avoid prompting the higher fees and more bureaucracy that state testing would likely cause. What say on that?
Keep up the great service!
John

Hi John -
The official information is still being finalized before posting, but there will not be a required examination in order to obtain the CA state certification. Passing an exam will be one of three options available in order to obtain the Certified Massage Therapist title. There should be additional updates available from CAMTC by the end of July.
Thanks!
Les

Hi Shirley -
Watch the end of the video – it has the information. You can find ABMP by searching for Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, or find me at facebook.com/les.sweeney.
Thanks!

Hi Les,
I like what you’re doing here. Does ABMP have a written strategic plan regarding public education of massage effectiveness that you could share with us?
Thanks,

Robin -
We do not. Our primary commitment to public education has been through the development of massagetherapy.com, and through increased public relations efforts. If you have examples of other organizations or professions that have done so, I would appreciate learning more about this. You can contact me at les@abmp.com. Thanks.
